I asked for a foie gras starter and steak as a main. They got that mixed around and brought the steak first and I said I wanted my starter first so asked them to return it. This was the first mess up and it meant I had to wait longer.
By the time my starter came, the flavour was very bland and there was no foie gras to be tasted. It just tasted like a typical roast leg. When I finished the starter I had to wait a further 25 minutes for my main and by then I was starting to feel annoyed with my choice of restaurant. Ironically I was one of the last customers inside apart from a couple in the corner. The steak came and I give a thumbs up for the presentation and flavour. Was very nice! Probably the only nice thing...
Half way through my meal the waiter put the air conditioning back on so I asked him to switch it off because it was freezing. I felt like he wanted to throw me out as soon as possible because he probably wanted to go home. He then abruptly came to my table, whilst Im still eating and handed me the bill. This was the most terrible service in Hong Kong I experienced. He even had the ordasity to add service charge. I cant believe they did not offer me a desserts menu!!!
My bill was $250 with added $25 service. I gave the waiter $300 and said keep the change. I told him and the girl that the service was very bad and felt rushed. I live in Kennedy town and said I will never return again and I will make sure none of my friends go there. The waiter just said "ok".
I run restaurants in London also and I know what is good service. The customer must leave feeling like they want to come again. I did not feel like this at Igawa.
