After ordering, we were provided soup. It was quite oily and over dosed with pepper. It had so much pepper, I couldn't taste anything else. I remember watching an episode of Masterchef where someone overdosed on black pepper when they made their scrambled eggs and Christina Tosi started to cough after tasting it and continued to do so while the judges were deliberating. At the time I watched it, I said to myself, do you have to exaggerate that much? Well .... no more! This soup made me do the exact same thing she did. I couldn't taste anything but pepper afterwards. I tried to cough it out. It was that bad.

Thank goodness the drinks came!!! I had a Thai ice lemon tea. It tasted like Nestea.

Boyfriend had the Thai milk tea. It tasted like regular milk tea. Honestly, adding $12 was not worth it. Save your money. Just drink the free water.

Hainan Chicken Rice ($42). The chicken rice wasn't even the usual Hainan chicken rice. It was just regular rice with again ... pepper! The chicken was pale in color and not much flavor.

Satay Sticks with Rice ($42). The satay sticks fared better. You get six sticks: two chicken, two beef and two pork. All were moist and packed with flavor.

Prices are definitely cheap. Rice portions was huge. But food just tasted like black pepper. Was the cook on an off day where he just  threw in all the black pepper into everything? I don't know. I won't be back.
