Having tried more Shake Shack shakes than I’d like to admit, I thought I might as well try the frozen custard that their shakes are made with. Having tried more Shake Shack shakes than I’d like to admit, I thought I might as well try the frozen custard that their shakes are made with.

This is a new experience in the sense that I’m trying my favourite shakes in a different form (kind of, lol).

Taste-wise, this double cup (or scoop) pretty much tastes like chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
The difference between frozen custard and ice cream is that the former is made with eggs yolks.
Well, I did not taste any egg yolks, but the vanilla does look a bit more yellowish in colour than the traditionally snowy-white vanilla ice cream.

Texture-wise, my frozen custard did feel slightly more dense but its density wasn’t significant enough to make much of an impression.

I know it would be silly to expect more flavours than just these two basic flavours. I’m not asking for macadamia crunch with brownie chunks or pear cheesecake with graham crackers. But I wouldn’t mind seeing more flavours to choose from.
