If you would like to try some traditional food and experience the local dining culture, Kam Wah Cafe is definitely the place for you! This cafe has been around since 1973 and is one of the very traditional cha chaan taangs in Hong Kong.

It’s famous for its bolobao (pineapple bun without butter) and boloyau (pineapple bun with butter). The top of the hot bun is sweet and crispy, contrasting so well with the ice-cold butter inside. When all the buns in the chain bakeries in Hong Kong today are so airy and light, the buns here are moist, fluffy and dense!

I just love their Hong Kong-style milk tea! Tea leaves are a blend from different origins which give a strong and fragrant taste which is long lasting. The tea is made very smooth with an addition of evaporated milk. I used to have a cuppa to start my day

The local style French Toasty is also a signature dish. The toasts are deep fried and served with peanut butter in the middle, butter on the top. Does it sound decadent? You can even add syrup to your heart’s content too

Another thing this cafe is infamous for is the service lol The staff here might be too busy to provide good service and sometimes they would even shout at the customers and oh well, this is also part of the culture of Cha chaang tengs😆

P.S. This little guy has been a regular patron since he’s in mama’s tummy and thus he receives better service 🤪
