Another cafe with various barista awards. Indeed, I had already been to The Cupping Room when it was still in Stanley. The original place is now occupied by another cafe with a different name but I am not sure the relationship between the two. Lunch hours on a Saturday was quite busy here. There is not much decor

Lunch hours on a Saturday was quite busy here. There is not much decoration inside the cafe. Customers can first order, finish their meal and walk to the cashier to pay before leaving. There are also some cakes and danish at the cashier, some of which are homemade.
The menus is clear and detailed. But I was quite surprised to find out that Poached eggs, smashed avocado with smoked salmon was already sold out... Well, that's kind of early given that it was only 1pm...
Cappuccino ($38) - Not very much willing to try the different varieties of coffee, it's usually only flat white or cappuccino for me... Probably time to try something new, but not today. It's still cappuccino this time! The coffee came with a standard latte art. It tasted good though I preferred a hotter one.
Egg Benedicts w/ Smoked Salmon ($108) - Another of my usual brunch items, the egg benedicts. I only ordered this as poached eggs were no longer available. Speaking of egg benedicts, sometimes if they come with side salad, potatoes, cherry tomatoes or alike, I will instantly feel more delighted by the meal. (Oh yea I guess I am a bit too greedy) Like in Classified, there are really only two egg benedicts on plate which make the whole dish look a bit miserable. But the one here at The Cupping Room was an exception. The benedicts were served with few pieces of oranges and grapefruits but it looked really pretty.
Instead of the traditional English muffin, sourdough toast was used. Was it healthier with the sourdough? That depended on what they used to bake the bread. The sourdough toast was lightly toasted and was not too damp even with the oil from salmon and the egg yolk. The amount of Hollandaise sauce was just right. There were two to three layer of thin salmon under the eggs which was quite generous on part of the cafe since some other cafe may just use one very thin layer. As such, the taste of salmon was quite outstanding. Truly a satisfying dish.
Omelette Sandwiches ($108) - Another item I knew I had to order before I came was the Omelette Sandwich. As a "Sandwich", the omelette was placed on top, then the bacon and the sourdough toast at the bottom.
Inside the Omelette I could find cheese and spinach, lots of them actually~ The egg was really thin and I wonder how it was cooked so perfectly without any holes or cracks holding all those ingredients. Cheese, spinach and eggs together could not go wrong for sure and the egg was smooth and silky. The bacon was described as "crispy" but KK said it's not crispy at all yet it's still good and not too oily. Further, "raspberry jam sourdough" was also described on the menu but I failed to taste any raspberry jam. Well it's only normal since the taste of cheese, bacon, spinach and eggs would definitely have overpowered the jam. But I don't think it matters much in any event as the Omelette Sandwich was already very good.
We left quickly after finishing the meal. Although it's a cafe, given that it was lunch hours in a weekend, one could not really sit down and spend the afternoon with coffee. Still, it's a very good place for a brunch.
