When this first opened, I really REALLY wanted to go. There was such a long queue, that I couldn't get anyone to come with me to try. Because you see...Chinese food is a bit hard to eat by yourself. Finally, after a year it opened, the lines have died down and I could nag boyfriend to go with me. YAY!The setting of the entire restaurant is has a clear Chinese theme with Hello Kitty logos everywhere. There are paintings of Hello Kitty also dressed in Chinese attire on the walls.

I was thrilled that the dinnerware also had Hello Kitty on them. I noticed the table was also engraved with Hello Kitty's face on it.

Anyways.....going nuts on the design aside, we got down to the food. Menu is a in Chinese with a separate English menu upon request.

Hello Kitty Steamed Sausage Rolls ($48). These were super cute. Mummified Hello Kitty! The buns were rather tasty with a Chinese sausage wrapped inside.

Hello Kitty Monkey Custard Buns ($68). These came in a set of two. I guess they made this for the year of the monkey. Nevertheless, this was kawaii beyond words. It was so pretty, I almost couldn't bite into it. But I did. It was stuffed with a yolky custard with a tiny bit of chocolate mixed in.

Just wanted to show you that even the steam paper was shaped like Hello Kitty.

Crispy Chicken ($88). The chicken had a nice crunchy coating and wasn't too oily. There was a pretty decent balance of salt and pepper.  Meat was moist. It came with a sweet and sour sauce for dipping but I really didn't use it as it was not needed.

Mini Ribs with Taiwan Perilla Plum Sauteed in Sweet and Sour Sauce ($108). This was like sweet and sour pork but but not as sour. The ribs were a bit on the chewy side. But I did like the sauce.

Stir Fried Assorted Mushrooms with Pumpkin and Sugar Spice ($88). This was a very typical veggie dish but I was slightly disappointed that they didn't put the effort to cut the pumpkin into Hello Kitty shapes of some sort.

Crispy Chicken ($138). We ordered half a crispy chicken. The chicken was moist and tender. The skin was crispy and was marinated with a light soysauce flavor.

Hello Kitty Steamed Milk Custard ($58). This was alright, not too sweet. There was a huge Hello Kitty shaped candy on it that was so large, it was impossible to put into my mouth. So it was pushed aside and wasted away.

Hello Kitty Mango Pudding ($48). Originally wanted the almond tofu but this was not available so this is my second choice. The mango pudding didn't have much mango flavor in it. There was a chocolate shaped Hello Kitty on top and condensed milk was placed in a Hello Kitty shot glass.

I loved that they paid so much attention to detail in the design of the restaurant. The dim sum was clearly too kawaii for words. But I was slightly disappointed that not all items on the menu had some sort of Hello Kitty addition in it. I thought everything in the menu would but apparently not. Tastewise, it was ok but I think I would have liked it more if they had some sort of Hello Kitty added to it. I don't know why they couldn't do cut outs from the vegetables? How simple is that? Something I found surprising. The table next to us had a small child, yet the restaurant didn't have a baby seat so the restaurant just stuck two chairs closer together to prop the child up. This was surprising to me as this restaurant's main customer base are girls who love Hello Kitty and children. Why wasn't a baby seat available?
