Located on the street where Ladies Market is located, is this small yet cute little cafe. It's not very big and there aren't that many table so you don't feel too cramped.
Menu is in Chinese only. They offer lunch sets during lunch time that include a drink. They also offer other food other than omurice but I wanted that and the whole reason I dragged boyfriend here. So he can translate for me.
Omurice with Chicken Curry ($52). I had this and it did look promising. The curry sauce was a little spicy but then boyfriend said it wasn't spicy at all. It was a Japanese curry and tasted fairy good. The potatoes and carrots were soft and sweet. They even had a daikon! The chicken was moist and not over cooked. The egg was soft. And there was a lot of rice. I gave half of it to boyfriend and I still had a lot of rice.
Omurice with Pork Cutlet ($56). Boyfriend ordered this. The sauce was the same curry sauce. that was good. The only thing is the pork cutlet was a bit sad looking. It was pale and yes, the coating wasn't very good. It just wasn't fried long enough and was a bit soggy.
For an additional $12, you can get a salad and soup. Boyfriend added that and gave me the salad while he had the soup.
The soup was a cream of mushroom. It was ok and tasted like stuff from a can. I did like the bowl as it was shaped like a heart. But then the staff told me to it's supposed to be a peach.
So, my salad was served in the same bowl and yes, turning it over it was a peach shape. The salad was fresh and had a bit of sesame dressing but not too much to make it overly salty and watered down.
A nice place for inexpensive plate of omurice. Staff was friendly. Place seemed clean. I would be back but not order the pork cutlet next time.
