這夜與朋友再次來到位於中環雲咸街的西班牙餐廳Zafran,除了喜歡這裡的型格又帶點神秘的氣氛,今次更主要的目的,是為了想吃個比較不一樣的西班牙餐 :)Zafran逢星期一至四的晚市可以特別預約坐在面對open kitchen的bar檯,由餐廳行政總廚Chef Pedro Samper親自“主演”一場“Theatre of Tapas”。“Theatre of Tapas”有3款可選,分別是“Traditional" $500/位, "Chef’s Special" $800/位 和 “Zafran Special” $1000/位。分別在於菜式數量多少和價錢,至於餐單的內容,就全交由大廚發板!Chef Pedro會因應大家有否任何不吃/不能吃的食物而安排當晚的菜式。我們見既然一場來到,就選full course 連甜品的“Zafran Special” ($1000/位),一於盡情投入大廚這場"Theatre of Tapas"吧。先飲杯sangria輕鬆一下啦。這裡有5款sangria,包括紅酒,白酒,汽酒等等,而我就選了白酒做底的White Valencia。 飲起來味道清新,不太

在我們面前的Chef Pedro相當健談和親切,邊預備食材、邊與我們傾計。原來他來自被稱為美食之都的San Sebastian!San Sebastian位於西班牙北部Basque區,鄰近法國西南部邊境。如果按人口計算,這靠海小鎮內的米芝蓮餐廳星星密度比西班牙任何城市(包括Barcelona),甚至不少大名鼎鼎的美食城市如巴黎等還要多。幾個月後我都將會再訪西班牙,到時亦會去San Sebastian,現在想起已覺開心!

我們這晚選的"Theatre of Tapas" - “Zafran Special”由前菜至甜品共會有15道菜,不過Chef Pedro保持神秘,沒有告訴我們exactly將會有什麼食。我們只知道會如theatre劇場般分成6幕一幕幕送上,包括前菜,海鮮,蔬菜,肉類,主菜和甜品,當中包括一些basque區特色食材(如辣椒粉,鱈魚,番茄和新鮮杏仁等),炮製出帶basque風味的菜式。每晚大廚預備的菜式都可能不同,以下就分享一下我這夜食過的15道菜,當中有些更是很得我歡心,如果自己(或朋友再來)的話,不妨試試要求大廚留在menu,可以再次回味嘛

- Water-Melon-Sangria:sangria浸過的粒粒西瓜磚和蜜瓜磚,陣陣酒香,清甜多汁。
- Olives, Anchovies and Vermouth:橄欖一向都是不錯的送酒或餐前開胃菜。這個版本更加上2款醃鯷魚和vermouth酒,鹹香度和層次更提昇。
- Pistachio, Foie Gras and Mango Lollipops:軟滑甘香的鵝肝醬,與酸甜的芒果肉和脆脆開心果碎加在一起,我很喜歡呢。

整體來說,這夜各道菜的味道和賣相都很精彩,當中既有較傳統的、亦有較創新的。加上能近距離親眼看著大廚在自己面前發板炮製一道又一道'神秘'菜式,太適合愛surprise(又或有選擇困難症)的朋友了~ 有興趣吃這“Theatre of Tapas”的朋友記得要預先訂位,而且餐廳為了讓大廚可以貼身照顧每位食客的體驗,訂位由2位起,限定每晚最多6位咋。
