Saizeriya Italian Restaurant is the very famous and popular chain of family style yoshuku restaurants. There are also several branches in Hong Kong as well. Known for inexpensive prices with a variety of choices, I think many of us have been to at least one before. Their newest branch is located in Causeway Bay. Menu is in English and Chinese.There is no 10 service charge and you pay on your way out. Ordering is done by scanning the QR code which is also bilingual and easy to use. The lunch sets are $60 and include choice of main, a salad and 2 choices of either the drink bar, soup, garlic bread or rice. Or if you choose the sizzling iron plate, you get rice and drink bar or soup. $15 gets you an add on dessert. Pretty cheap!
The lunch set salad is a simple affair. Lettuce, corn and thousand island sauce. Not exciting but at least fresh.
You can choose corn soup or minestrone. I love the Japanese corn soup so chose that. A large bowl so I was almost full when I finished this. A bit watery but plenty of corn flavour.
For the main, I chose a meat doria with soft boiled egg. My favorite item to order when I'm there. The egg was perfect. The yolk flowed out creating an extra sauce. The meat was good an there was a bit of cheesey gratin. All mixed well with the rice.
Very good lunch set deal. Definitely be back. Plus adding the all you can drink drink bar! What a deal!
