There aren't a lot of take away tea places in Hong Kong. Yes, there are a lot of coffee shops with baristas growing by the dozen, but not that many tea places. Tea is actually growing in popularity in the Western world due to the growing interest in it's health benefits. The tea shops in the Western world are designing teas to look like coffee with it's lattes and frappacinos. Is Hong Kong going to follow?Well, so far :jrink is trying to start something up. Well, so far :jrink is trying to start something up. Located in the always trendy Tai Hang area, right next the kawaii Hello Kitty Secret Garden Cafe, is this small little shop. I came here in the winter when it first opened and had a warm cup of tea for take away. But this time I returned in the hot summer with boyfriend.

They have a basic menu. You choose the type of tea leaf, how you want it served (in a pot, hot or cold) and that's it. For certain tea leaves, they can change it up to a tea latte. For roobios tea, you can change it up to a chappucino which is a mini version of a cappucino but with tea.

If you are unsure what the tea names are, they have a section where you can smell the teas before you decide. This fascinated boyfriend to no end. It was like smelling bottles of perfume!

As it was summer, we asked for iced drinks in latte form ($34 each). All teas are made to order. Even the cold teas! Nothing is made ahead of time. Their teas are generally not sweet, but sugar is available upon request. Boyfriend chose creme brulee latte (on the right) and I chose chai me latte (on the left). I really liked his creme brulee latte. It really tasted like custard! My chai me latte was not spicy chai enough.

I noticed they added tables and chairs now so there is seating. Before it was strictly take away. A nice option to sit and rest with a cup of tea instead of coffee.
