There seems to be a recent influx of Japanese restaurants specializing in Tonkatsu (and its variants) in the Tsim Sha Tsui area. The difference between Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin and all the others is that this one is tucked away in a little corner between two floors in K11. The meal started off with kani and cucumber salad. They were very fresh and quite thick-cut.

And then we had the main dish. We all ordered the pork loin tonkatsu set.

Each (ton)katsu set comes with shredded cabbage, rice, miso soup and pickles. The serving size was adequate with more than enough tonkatsu to eat with rice and fill one up. The shredded cabbage was very fresh and crispy to the bite, the miso soup was, well, miso soup; and the pickles were left untouched on my plate.

Is this place worth going back to? I'd say yes. Not only was the food good, but the location is perfect - it's right in the middle of a mall, yet secluded enough for a semi-private dinner.
