It's hard to quantify being cheated. At most places, if they give you a small portion how are you supposed to argue that you really paid for more? I go to Subway a lot. I go to Subway a lot. When I lived in the States, I mostly when to mom & pop sandwich shops, which are everywhere in a state like New Jersey. Anyway, I've observed that recently, Subway restaurants have started putting only 3 slices of turkey on a turkey sandwich, when I distinctly remember that I used to get 4. The meat is the most substantive part of the sandwich, and probably the most expensive thing on it, so to give customers 25% less for the same price is pretty low. I was passively accepting this fact for a while, but the last straw was when I got a sandwich at this Sheung Wan Subway and it came with the following advertisement:
I went so far as to contact Jack Zhang, who's in charge of Subway development in HK. He told me this: "Subway’s standard 6 inch sub has 4 slices of turkey in it. As for the advertisement photo, the turkey slices were folded in few layers & placed more outward for illustrative purpose." I'm not sure I buy the claim about the photo. Even if it is just four slices, it's very misleading.
Other Info. :
Subway lets you complain on their website, but they make you give them your email address, which they share with other companies for marketing purposes. I contacted them through facebook.
