The chef here seems very capable - I visited the restaurant for a special Spanish tapas-style group meal that the chef specifically prepared for my group, and many flavors were on display. The fixed course meal began with a non-alcoholic sangria, which matched the flavor of true sangria very well. For an appetizer, I ate a spanish-style dip, surprisingly not salty but slightly sweet, with carrots that had been softened just enough to make them easy to eat with the dip. All in all, Maya Cafe is a winner if you're looking for intriguing, creative and delicious dishes and are willing to accept a thing or two off the mark. I look forward to going back.
