The chef here seems very capable - I visited the restaurant for a special Spanish tapas-style group meal that the chef specifically prepared for my group, and many flavors were on display. The fixed course meal began with a non-alcoholic sangria, which matched the flavor of true sangria very well. For an appetizer, I ate a spanish-style dip, surprisingly not salty but slightly sweet, with carrots that had been softened just enough to make them easy to eat with the dip. My group was mixed on the dish, but I found it to be quite unique and tasty. For an entree, I dined on a vegan omelette type dish, which was slightly crispy on the outside, but just soft enough inside. The omelette alone was not especially flavorful, but the tomato sauce around it paired well. Dessert was a real treat- the puddings were well crafted and went down quickly.

All in all, Maya Cafe is a winner if you're looking for intriguing, creative and delicious dishes and are willing to accept a thing or two off the mark. I look forward to going back.
