this is my favorite japanese restaurant in hk and i've been going here at least once a month but i was really let down last week. i took my friend there to celebrate my b-day. we got there a little late, at 2:30. i asked them if they would seat us..and they said..of course. so we went in. we placed an order at 2:45 and the lady told is this is last call. which is fine. when i was placing the order i ask what does the sashimi lunch set come with? she said, 3 kinds of sashimi fish. and i was think
i took my friend there to celebrate my b-day. we got there a little late, at 2:30. i asked them if they would seat us..and they said..of course. so we went in. we placed an order at 2:45 and the lady told is this is last call. which is fine. when i was placing the order i ask what does the sashimi lunch set come with? she said, 3 kinds of sashimi fish. and i was thinking..umm that's not going to be enough so i ordered a set and a entree. when the set came it included soup, salad, the 3 kind sashimi, a small tiny appetizer and a big bowl of rice with more sashimi on top. i was thinking...er..why didn't she tell me? i totally ordered too much. upset #1
then at 3:00 they stop serving tea. upset #2. i was thinking if that is the kind of service you provide after your closing hour of 3:00 then you should have told me last order at 2:45 and need to be out the door at 3:00.
upset #3. after finishing the meal I asked one of the ladies if the set comes with dessert. she rudely said no and we close at 3:00!!
seriously!! if you don't want customers eating after 3:00 don't let them in at 2:30. that's just ridiculous. i would have been happy if the lady at the front desk said sorry we close at 3:00 and if you would like to dine in you would need to finish by 3:00. then i'ld have a choice of saying ok that's fine i'll come next time. super upset!! btw lunch was $250 per person. the service for sure doesn't live up to the cost.
if you're ok with good food and lousy service by all means try. if not...don't go!
