My friend and I visited this restaurant on Monday (7th May ) around 8:30pm, food was up to standard, but half way through our dinner , a waitress approached us to settle the bill as she needed to do the settlement for the restaurant . Both my friend and I were shocked as we didn't receive any reminder on any last order for food and we were half way through our meal . My friend and I visited this restaurant on Monday (7th May ) around 8:30pm, food was up to standard, but half way through our dinner , a waitress approached us to settle the bill as she needed to do the settlement for the restaurant .
Both my friend and I were shocked as we didn't receive any reminder on any last order for food and we were half way through our meal . The waitress explained to us that we can continue to enjoy our food but we just need to pay first .
As we were not given any notice of " last order", so I expressed to her that we want to order dessert as well to complete our meal. Waitress said that it's fine and she could make the order for us and she will adjust the bill for us too .
Dessert arrived but we were still working on our main dishes, soon or later the waitress / cleaning lady started to mop the floor with detergent.I was a bit fed up as I can't really taste the food anymore, all I can taste was the smell from the detergent.
Then the cleaning lady started to talk to the other waitresses something like " it's end of business hours, why we are still staying here?". Both my friend and I clearly got the signal about its time to leave the restaurant .
So I got up and walked myself out from the restaurant, and I almost slipped in my first step.
Clearly I wasn't aware of the wet floor and my trainer didn't help. I told my friend to be careful and I got a bit angry so I told the waitress that there should be a sign out if there is water on the floor or if the floor is slippery .
If someone got injured because of the slippery floor and there is no warning sign around it, the restaurant will be in a trouble .
I looked at my watch , it's 9:20pm when I was out from this restaurant . I checked the business hour of this restaurant from OpenRice , it stated 10pm.
So I feel absolutely puzzled with my dinning restaurant at Shanghai Lao Lao . If the restaurant needed to be closed earlier on that day , the waitress should let us know before we got seated . Cos I believe Lao Lao is not a fast food restaurant and the customers would prefer to take time to enjoy the meal.
