Came here back in May and was surprised at the quality of certain dishes! 小籠包 -
Xiao Loong bao has a lot of sweetish juice, the skin was thin but without the extra elasticity in the Din Tai Fung version. I thought this was at least Top 3 of any Xiao Loong Bao I've had in Hong Kong so far. If only the meat was slightly fluffier! 9/10
生煎牛肉包 -
Fried Beef Cake was juicy inside, with good pastry and beef feeling. This reminds me of 牛肉餡餅 in Taiwan. I enjoy the version here because it's really natural. 清真牛肉館's version obviously has more juice from the brothy ice they put into it, but then again that is more heavily spiced. Each to their own! 8/10
葱油餅 -
Certain bites of this Fried Spring Onion Cake had no spring onions, whereas other bites had a mouthful of them and they were quite salty! The pastry here is actually quite fluffily good and not oily, its much better than those really denser version out on the market. If only it had an evenly distributed Spring Onions layer, this would have been awesome. 6/10
餃子 -
Can't remember much of this but it was quite clean and the meat inside not too fatty. A pretty good rather than an exceptional rendition, but then again, one can't expect too much from its very affordable pricing! 7/10
