Dining out at Tai Koo for lunch could be a difficult task on weekdays. Not only it is expensive around the district, restaurant are also packed with OLs and full suits. Sometimes I would prefer to walk away from all the depressing atmosphere and go for some fresh air.

Recommended by my colleague, I came to this tiny Vietnamese place. The restaurant is small but packed with tables. At lunch time, it is very often that you will have to share a table with strangers.

We ordered one hot main: raw beef & sliced interim brisket pho, and a cold main: beef w/ lemongrass cold vermincelli.

The pho came first and the look of it was normal. Beef hiding under the greens. I found the sliced beef both very good. Full of flavor but not over cooked by the hot soup. Especially the interim brisket, tender 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻the soup was ok. Not the most authentic one but you get what you pay 💰😊and I am one full and happy tummy after this! The portion is very reasonable!

And then the cold vermincelli. My goodness! It's HUGE!!!!!! However, it was a bit disappointing cause the cooked beef was not served hot. It seems to me it has been cooked for quite a while and the lemongrass flavor wasn't outstanding. Poor thing. 😔the plate should be a deeper one as it was very difficult to stir in everything. Literally the nuts were all over the table when my friend did it.🤣🤣🤣well, we had a laugh though.

Overall it was a nice lunch. Very affordable and can get a nice walk back to the office through a little park. Lunch set also comes with selected free drinks and no service charge. Eventhough it was lunch time, the 2 of us didn't have to wait long. Just a few minutes and our table was ready! I will definitely come again when I crave for Vietnamese next time!!! 😋😋😋
