Trying out Aera, a new, casual fine dining spot in Wanchai. The Nordic fusion restaurant showcases a variety of creative dishes that make use of local and international produce.🍴 ✨ We ordered their 2-Course Lunch Set which comes with a Starter/Soup + Main that also comes with Coffee/Tea priced at $178 hkd per person Pic 1️⃣: 𝓛𝓸𝓬𝓪𝓵 𝓕𝓲𝓼𝓱 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓑𝓪𝓫𝔂 𝓢𝓹𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓬𝓱 • 𝓑𝓪𝓫𝔂 𝓞𝓷𝓲𝓸𝓷 • 𝓦𝓱𝓮𝔂 (+68 𝓱𝓴𝓭)— The fish was nicely pan-seared, giving it that crispy finish on the skin. — The fish was nicely pan-seared, giving it that crispy finish on the skin. The texture of the fish was nice and crumbly, though personally I would’ve preferred something more buttery and smooth. The charred baby onions left a fragrant touch. Overall, flavours in this dish are nice and mild, allowing each of the elements to shine on their own.

— Is it just me or does this look a bit like 滑蛋叉燒飯 😂 Aside from this though, the risotto was really well seasoned and the rice was perfectly cooked. There were subtle hints of earthiness and sweetness to the dish, mainly from the saffron. The osso busco was really tender and succulent, though quite fatty as well.

— Great way to begin the meal. The salad is refreshing and really gets your appetite going. The tomatoes are tossed in a lovely strawberry vinaigrette to give it that extra bit of sweetness and lighten up the acidity of the vinaigrette. The burrata was super creamy with a light milky flavour to it. Thought this was well worth the additional cost as most places don’t tend to give you an entire burrata cheese for that price.

— Usually not a fan of cauliflower but the flavours of this soup were really unique. I loved the hints of miso in the soup, giving it a deep savoury, toasted flavour with umami notes. The spring onion to finish adds an aromatic touch. The soup also had a good consistency which was nice and smooth.
📍Ambiance: Seating is quite spacious, simplistic, open design, bright interiors. Staff are friendly and attentive.
