"To err is quite human" --- it is perfectly understandable people do mess things up from time to time. But whenever you make a mistake, admit and fix it quick --- Delaney watiresses failed to do so yesterday.

I ordered fish and chips and a pint of beer. It took 15 minutes for just the beer to arrive , fine.

After over 30 minutes I couldn't help but ask one of the two waitresses "where's the food"
I got "ok I 'll check for you"

Nothing in another 10 minutes. I got "coming, coming" this time.

The food finally came after a while and that was a WRONG dish.

At this point they admitted that there was 'something wrong with the computer and the order didnt go into the kitchen'

No apology was made at this point. The waitress said "you want to wait again?"

I decided not to waste anymore time, paid for the beer and left.

Computers do go wrong. What decent restaurants do is to apologize, fix and compensate immediatel. It is unforgivable to try to hide the mistake and keep a customer waiting.

(OK, since I am required to comment on the food so here it is

Beer: Draft beer, same anywhere. There are a few Irish choices like Kilkenney and Guinness, but in general not many. (no Stella)

Fish and chips: On paper, the up side is the offer a choice of battered and breaded (when they DO get the order right) They did give me a breaded one last time. The portion and texture are acceptable for this price ($142). The sides include green peas and fat chips.

I tried a piece if my friend's battered one --- I suspect it is a totally different kind of fish and there is hardly any texture --- more like a oily paste.
