What's with restaurants lying about their seating nowadays? How often have you booked a place and they tell you that certain tables are not available and yet when you arrive and sit there the whole time, those tables that you wanted are empty? Many people have this kind of experience nowadays.  Do the restaurants think they will get more business by "acting" like they are so fully booked??? I would really think twice about going there again.  There are too many examples but i'll just write about

There are too many examples but i'll just write about one recent one.  Yesterday we went to Mango Tree at ICC for the first time at 2 pm.  By this time, the lunch crowd would have gone and be less busy.  We asked if we could sit by the window.  The manager, i presume, said no tables were available and if we ate there, we had to leave by 3 pm.  Well, that's no problem as that's ample time for lunch. I thought it's weird cause at this time, most people would be finished their lunch so how come no window seats? So he sat us at a table beside the bar.

I was curious about the view so i walked over to the window to look at the view.  And there were a few empty two-person tables by the windows!! What the heck???? I mean, even if those tables were just made available, he could've said that if you wanted a window table, you'd have to wait.....but he didn't offer that.  And five minutes later, a few tables were available.  Basically, the manager wasn't very accomodating and for that he would not be giving his restaurant the best service they can!

For the lunch, we ordered fried lobster with green peppercorn, river prawns in claypot with vermicelli, and catfish salad.  The catfish salad was just deep fried, you couldn't tell it was catfish!! I was really disappointed in that and they said that they blended the catfish and deep fried it.  Don't order this if you want to eat fish.  All you get are deep fried crumbs.  However our server was really nice and efficient.  We finished our lunch at 2:55pm.  I think that they are really snobby about their window seats!!!!! Don't believe what they tell you!! I would REALLY think twice about going back there even though their high tea is popular.
