They have a variety of sweet and savory flavors, from green tea and red bean, to pork floss and spicy dried shrimp. I decided on their borscht soup flavor, why not, I've never had savory GDZs before! These are made to order, so I needed to wait for about 5 minutes. Luckily there was no line when I went so I didn't have to wait long. I've heard people had to wait for an hour for their order, I guess it was when they first opened.

The GDZs were pipping hot when I got it - they should be since it's made to order. I found there was a shiny coating on the GDZs, I wasn't sure what it was. It made the GDZs look a bit oilier and stickier. The taste was definitely borscht soup and it had a very strong flavor of that. I even tasted cropped carrots inside the GDZs!  In addition, it also had a sweetness to it, which I found, after eating more of it, was too sweet for my taste. Because the flavors were strong, I found that after having around 15 of the rounded balls, it was too much for me. It was mostly the sweetness that put me off. I was only able to finish half of the pack. Plus, GDZs are supposed to be crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. These were just soft and chewy, which I think lacked the right consistency of what a true GDZ is.

They do charge a premium (because they boast they use premium ingredients), but it's definitely worth a try. I think I'll stick with the traditional plain GDZs instead!
