The much awaited Tosca in Ritz Carlton Hotel finally opens after years of anticipation. However, perhaps the Toscana was almost flawlwss, it is hard for Tosca to beat its predecessor at its infantry stage. We tried the 5 course tasting menu which is priced reasonably at $800. The seared scallop (starter) was slightly over cooked. The pasta with lamb ragout is above average, the turbot fillet was a bit tough and the lamp chop was good but not spectacular. The dessert is a combination of ice cream,
Perhaps it takes time for the team to settle down , I decided not to post any food photo so people can judge for themself. However, what was positive was the atmosphere ,which although almost identical to Caprice (designed by the same designer),it does look glamourous and elegant and is perfect for a date or business dinner.
Given the name is just a legend, i will wait a few weeks for it to settle down before returning for another try again.
