If you want something cosy, fun and you don't mind the price - Come to Catalyuna! This place is such a hidden gem around Morrison Hill Road. Very well-decorated, dim but atmospheric. Okay let's talk about the food! I came here for a private dinner in the VIP room at the far back, so I didn't check the menu, but everything served on the table was good! Let me try to remember some...
- Grilled Cabbage - because there were a couple of vegetarians at the party, the chef was 'spontaneously' told to make more veggie dishes. What surprised me is this grilled cabbage. It looks like a seasoned cabbage cut by half, but the texture, temperature were just right. Seasoning did a great job - there was lemon juice and other spices that made a simple cabbage taste so appetising!
- Grilled mixed greens - It's a spanish place but the mixed greens, comprising asparagus, baby corns, cherry tomatoes, tasted just great!
- Tartar-look-alike - there is a dish made of tomatoes that looked just raw tartar, but it's completely veggie; and it tasted real good!
- (Meat) Suckling pig - I didn't eat this one but other guests obviously enjoyed it. The manager cut the aromatically roasted suckling pig with a dish and then dropped the dish to the floor, saying it's a Spanish tradition. Others said it tasted real good.
To conlude, I really think this place is perfect for those who want cosy time and don't mind about price! Authentic Spanish food, great wine and great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
