Kyushu Ichiba is a Japanese restaurant and supermarket all in one. The 2 floors of the restaurant are sustained by rectangular logs and the lightings are just about right giving the place a great atmosphere. Fresh seafood are sold on the upper level and fresh sashimi are sold on the lower level. \r\n\r\n

\r\nEvery customer will get a 'fish shaped wishing note'. You can put your name and wish on the paper and hang it on the crossbeam of the restaurant. The whole ceiling is filled with these wishing notes and realistic fish models. It made me have a feeling that I went back to my childhood. Try it out for yourself and see if it works!\r\n\r\nThere are 5 Hong Kong style tatami and the upper level (the kind where there is a hole under each table so that customers could stretch their legs while eating!) Customers must take off their shoes when they enter. There is no extra charge for this. The rooms could be restructured to fit the number of customers visiting. For example, a room that fits 8-10 people could be restructured to fit 30 people or above! Even the holes under the tables could be moved to any place you want, as if the rooms were made by building blocks. This design is definitely the first to appear in Hong Kong!\r\n

\r\n\r\nThe main dish of Kyushu Ichiba would be the famous Japanese beef! Kyushu Ichiba makes some of the best Japanese beef around. The most unique way of cooking the beef would be using the method called 'frosted barbecue'. What this means is barbecuing the beef cold. First the beef is put into the freezer so that its tenderness could be kept. Then it is barbecued on high heat so that the outside of the beef is cooked. As you cut it open, the inside would still be raw and full of tenderness. The texture is indescribable. \r\n

Mr. Cheng, the manager of the restaurant, said that Kyushu Ichiba uses high quality imported Japanese beef and there is no doubt about it. The wholesaler in Hong Kong is also very reliable. If you want to eat some of the best Japanese beef in Hong Kong, then you should come to Kyushu Ichiba. Another wonderful dish of the restaurant is the 'Freshwater Dolphin'. The dolphins are inspected in Japan before they are exported to Hong Kong. It is definitely safe to eat. Come and try it out, but this dish is not always on the menu.
About every 2 months, the menu would change so that customers wouldn't be bored of eating the same things over and over again. For example, a new variety of shellfish were introduced to the restaurant last November, there is the roughed back shellfish sashimi, the sea snail sashimi……………
