We went to this place at around 9pm on Friday, it is still quite busy. Overall my feedback for this restaurant is pretty poor. The only thing I thought taste good is the Gyoza, but I am 99% sure this is soem frozen pan fried gyoza which taste the same if you cook at home. We had 7 passengers.1) sake selection is horrible. overpriced and serving cheap stuff.2) the place is noisy and full of drunk office people (most likely just finish 3 hour of happy hour drinking, like ourselves!3) decoration is

1) sake selection is horrible. overpriced and serving cheap stuff.
2) the place is noisy and full of drunk office people (most likely just finish 3 hour of happy hour drinking, like ourselves!
3) decoration is non existent. it doesnt look japanese, and certainly doesnt give me any okinawa feeling.
4) okinawa culture and food is supposedly very much delicate, attention to detail. i do not taste this at all. the food we ordered mostly looked like japanese bar food and not very attractive in presentation.
5) service wasnt great, but decent given that they were full house. at least they served ice water.
6) warning my GF saw a friendly cockroach in the shared building toilet down the hallway (not in the restaurant).
7) they let people smoke in the balcony (which is actually has airconditioning and they use plastic to wrap around the balcony area.

thanks, but next time i will prefer go home to eat noodles.

I have been an irregular but loyal customer at both Rakuen's since someone who used to work their took us to the CWB branch 2 years ago. We booked a table for 5 as we wanted to introduce some friends who had never been.

After getting no service for 10 minutes we went to the bar to politely ask a waitress to come over, we were told they were busy and would come soon. We were at one end of the restaurant and staff never looked in our direction. The attitude of the staff was disconnected and distant.

5 minutes later we went to ask again and we're told someone would come back to table with me but halfway across the restaurant they went off to do something else.

The waiter was rude (sarcastic) and uninterested, even argumentative when we criticised the service. We asked to see the manager and he told us he was the manager! Wow! we complained very strongly but he was unaware that things were as bad as they were. some minutes later we noticed the table of 4 next to us complaining that had waited a long time for drinks to be served.

The food when it came was OK, the Okinawan dumplings were good but the tuna wasabi tuna was a little drenched in mayonnaise so not as much bite as it should have had.

Miso Cod was reasonable and a good portion too and the clams were a new dish we tried for the first time and were very fresh and tasty.

I've eaten at both Rakuen restaurants before and the food used to be better but it seems it has got too popular and service is poor and uncaring. The food does not seem to be presented with the same style and panache as it once was.

When a duplicated order of lotus root was delivered later we were told we had to take it because we ordered it! We actually argued this fairly strongly mostly because of the terrible way the manager handled it. The manager told us he took the order and he had seen our friend point to it and wrote it down. Only later did we remember that he did not start writing things down until half way through when he realised we were placing a large order.

Sadly after 2 years of coming to Rakuen we would now not go back again.

未曾去過沖繩,只大概知道沖繩係日本陽光與海灘既地方,咁到底又同泰國、菲律賓、馬來西亞有咩野分別?原來去試沖繩菜都會比您揾到沖繩既獨特之處,感覺並非係慣常既日本料理,仲加深左對沖繩既認識。已經係第二次試訂銅鑼灣店,結果都係全滿,只能訂到中環蘭桂芳店。入到店內,令我眼前一亮既係酒,無論係玻璃樽酒,定係好似中國人一酲一酲既,紛紛佔據左壽司 bar,牆身,初步可以肯定沖繩有出名既酒。用膳既地方都唔算大,侍應講餐枱己經訂滿曬,只留有壽司 bar 座位比我地。心諗都好,因為壽司 bar 可以方便同厨師溝通。另外,餐廳最前位置設計成酒吧區,唔少外國人晌度飲酒! 沖繩 Orion 生啤:Orion 係沖繩最人氣既牌子,深受年青人愛戴,更係當地人用黎預防中暑既良方。用預先雪好冰杯裝上,味道就比 Asaki 啤酒更淡口,所以好快就可以完成一杯,對唔 "好" 既女士都相當無問題啦。 久保田 Sake:呢個唔係沖繩酒,但可以睇到既係沖繩特產 - 玻璃,就係我當晚愛不釋手既酒杯。顏整體色澄現海洋氣息,頭一層係海水既閃爍、第二層碧錄、第三層蔚籃。當中保留氣泡同裂紋係沖繩玻璃既風格,個人認為不造作,係粗糙帶出既自然

串燒牛脷:串燒牛脷係我既至愛,尤其係佐酒。燒得夠香、黑椒同鹹味恰到好處,但可惜燒過火,肉質有d硬,失去牛脷軟綿綿既質感同水份!
煙燻豬手:豬手比預期較為細小,食味較温和,略帶煙燻香味,肉質嫩滑,最鐘意食到豬手裡面富膠質既根部,整體不過不失,但皮脆同香味則遜於德國鹹豬手。
炸日本蠔:一睇個賣相以為一定齋食炸粉,因為日本蠔體積較細。但係師傅處理炸漿了得,一咬落去,口感鬆脆,無死實實,完全感覺唔到漿粉所佔既真實厚度,仲食到蠔鮮味同蠔心既滑溜感!
沖繩苦瓜炒豬肉:久違左既苦瓜甘香味,炒得唔過 "淋",略帶爽口,再配上嫩滑碎豬肉片同蛋絲,簡直係苦瓜愛好者既天堂美食。沖繩苦瓜抵您咁出名,好想自己種番棵!

串燒黑豚肉:早前去過濟州,好欣賞當地既黑豚肉,原來沖繩黑毛豬仲係日本既黑豚肉 (Kurobuta) 始祖,為當時琉球王既御用膳品。沖繩黑豚肉同樣富彈性及濃香,油多而不膩,含高蛋白質,可稱豬肉既大哥大,正!

沖繩腐乳:跟中國人既腐乳味道唔一樣,無濃烈鹹、甜或辣味,只帶小許酒香,質感綿滑,類似厚芝士。根據師傅教既食法係以一小口一小口慢慢品嚐,用黎送泡盛都好match,幾有趣!鐘意試新意既朋友,不防一試。

沖繩昆布炒豬肉:昆布即海草,亦係沖繩有名既健康食材。老實講食唔出沖繩昆布同其他地方既昆布有咩既分別,不過豬肉片仍然嫩滑,以健康打頭牌喎,當然要食清啦!下次可以試下佢地既海葡萄,係至出名既健康海草類食物。
甜薯豬肉餅:起初以為甜薯係番薯,點知食落先知係芋頭,配以沖繩海鹽,但食唔出有豬肉喎,所以應該改名為炸芋頭蓉餅先啱!
麵豉炒茄子:日本茄子煮得嫩滑,但欠麵豉醬香味,食味則較為平淡。
其中一位待應請我地飲左兩杯沖繩有名既泡盛 (awamori),酒精含量係30%,對我地有飲過中國白酒黎講,仲可以招架得住。沖繩泡盛係以泰國米加上麴菌釀製而成,反傳統唔用日本米,酒精含量由25-45%不等,當晚就見到一枝含量為70%,嘩....我諗只可以淺嚐。
環境:擺設左唔少既沖繩裝飾及海報,沖繩小玩具,例如夜光珠、假紋身貼、公仔、小沙樽等。中環店較多外國人幫襯,相比銅鑼灣店大部份都係日本客人,又加上設有酒吧區,日本氣氛唔夠銅鑼灣店咁濃烈。但星期五晚蘭桂芳愈夜愈美麗、愈夜愈多 walk in 客。
服務:由於中環區外國客人較多,可以見到有外藉員工服務,不但能講流利英語,而且仲識講日語,再加小小廣東話,果真厲害!可能沖繩係一個陽光與海灘既渡假勝地,服務員比同類日本食肆無咁拘謹,多左一份自然既親切同陽光 (笑容),可能係沖繩人既特質。
