So I stumbled on this place a few months ago and loved the pizza-like siu beng. I went again and had the original siu beng. Again, very good. I went a third time - not so good and the fourth time confirmed this.
The thrid time I went I had a 'pizza' and aside from being super-greasy, it had a piece of tooth in it. I am assuming that it was pig tooth (I hope nobody dropped one of their own in there while making it). I first thought that I had broken one of mine and checked my teeth frantically. When I was sure that all were intact, I was baffled as to how it got in there.
Anyway, I wanted to give them another chance, as I liked what I ate the first two times. This time, it was still greasy. The pork was almost too mushy, but with a decent flavour. I did find a hair in it this time, so I now have concerns about their hygiene. I also got almost instant heartburn from it. It is just too oily and it reacted very badly with my stomach on contact.
I won't be trying a fifth time, as I really don't want another day of stomach trouble. The taste is good, the texture of the meat is weird, the bread is oily and the hygiene is now in doubt. I would think first before eating there. 13 dollars is a great price, but if you are averse to oiliness, I would give it a miss.
