Going to Beyrouth was like going home. I am from a mixed household; British and Cypriot. My uncle is Lebanese and the food is very similar to the food from Cyprus. I was so happy - overwhelmed with emotion actually- by the food in Beyrouth. All the flavours brought back happy memories and I can attest to the authenticity of the food.We ordered a felafel wrap and a lamb shwarma. We also had a manoche with half zaatar and half cheese. We ordered a felafel wrap and a lamb shwarma. We also had a manoche with half zaatar and half cheese. The wraps were both really flavourful. The felafel reminded me of my auntie's ones and the yoghurt dressing was perfect against the soft felafel and crisp lettuce. The lamb was really tender and delicious - well seasoned and spiced. The manouche (flat bread) was really great. Actually the bread on each of the dishes was the perfect density, thickness and texture. Just brilliant. The cheese had a nice tang to it and the zaatar was the taste bomb it should be.
The guys that run the place are really friendly and very helpful, and they will help you choose exactly what you would like. It is a really good, authentic taste of the Lebanon at a pocket friendly price. A must go place in Central.
