Food
Ordered seared scallops as starter and spaghetti vongole and mushroom pizza for mains. Scallops were not bad but could have been a bit more seared for extra flavor. Spaghetti vongole was good taste-wise (slightly spicy), clams were fresh, but there was a little too much sauce which made the dish look like chinese style clam noodle soup. Mushroom pizza had a nice truffle flavor to it and was thin crust, not the best pizza i have had but it was decent enough in terms of amount of fillings and flavor.
Service
Service in general was ok but I'm sad to say that one of their staff was dishonest. We had a table by the wall and by the time we left the restaurant, it was already their closing time and there were probably only one or two other tables who have not left. These 2 other tables were situated a few tables away from ours. So one would expect that a phone left by the side of the table against the wall would have been picked up by the staff clearing our table when we left. Sadly, when i called them the next morning (and turned up shortly after the call), the manager insisted that none of the staff saw or picked up my phone. No doubt its my fault for being careless leaving my phone on the table, but i expected more honesty from the staff working in a restaurant from the cafe deco group. The phone was very quickly switched off (rendering Find my iPhone useless) so i guess the staff cleaning our table had no intentions to return the phone right from the start, how disappointing.
Conclusion
Probably wont be coming back to this restaurant solely because of this bad incident. Patrons who wish to try this restaurant, please be careful with your belongings as this is not a place where you would expect outright honesty despite the fairly good reputation of the cafe deco group or even the good location.
