The first impression of the restaurant was nice. It's elegance, quiet and relax as what I expected a high class Japanese restaurant should be.
Cuisine: Some dishes are Very Good, some are normal but some dishes are really BAD
Very good food: Fresh sashimi (supposed to be fresh right?), Very nice cod with lobster sauce, which with crispy skin and fresh and smooth body; Excellent Pork teriyaki with very rich taste, soft texture and the fat was crispy but melted right after you put in mouth!!
Soso food: shrimp tempura is cooked well but the shirmp is not fresh enough and the meat is a bit soft. The beef sushi roll was soso (beef with no taste at all, mushroom were fine)
Bad food: The salad was toooooo sour, and the long waited beef tenderloin teriyaki is EXTREMELY BAD. It is deeply over-cooked, the meat is HARD, all black which like dried for ages and burned like a charcoal.
Service: Disappointed. Normal service at first. But a waiter/manager then asked us about the food. We told her the beef teriyaki taste weird (we thought it maybe the way of cooking) and she admitted it was over-cooked and would follow it for us. No any feedback / comments returned to us eventually.
Agree with someone below said the service is like a tea restaurant (HK style restaurant). Too quick service, they seems want you to leave quickly which I didn't expect a elegance style japanese restaurant should be. The waitress keep refilling my cup of tea over 10 times in whole meal (1.5 hours only) which mostly the cup are 75% full still! The restaurant serve the food quick, as well as the waitress take the empty dish and clean you table as soon as you finish. I can feel 0% of relax. Am I dining in a fast food shop?
Atmosphere: It is unpredictable that very Noisy due to Beer Festival. But the table behind us a group of family, who might be the friend of staffs, which talking loudly, keep discussing where and how they should sit, with themselves as well as the staffs, which breaking the atmosphere totally. I feel like dining in Mongkok or Chinese restaurant. I suggest the restaurant can give them a VIP room.
Overall it doesn't worth its price. I can say you can have same quality within $400 for 2
But nevermind, no next time.
