My Colleague know i like to eat Patisserie Yamakawa's Strawberry Tart. She bought one for me this afternoon. It is one of the best Strawberry tart i ever have. Inside have a lot of strawberries and not too sweet. You might want to get that and have a try.

My first encounter with this delightful green tea creation was with A, B and G a couple months ago. Since then I haven't had the pleasure of eating it again. After months of longing, I finally got reacquainted with it tonight - apparently the result of an off-hand remark made to E about my choice between the strawberry tart and this green tea cake. I'll call it green tea cake. I think the bakery gives it a more sophisticated title. Whatevs. At the end of the day it's a solid green tea cake all r

After months of longing, I finally got reacquainted with it tonight - apparently the result of an off-hand remark made to E about my choice between the strawberry tart and this green tea cake. I'll call it green tea cake. I think the bakery gives it a more sophisticated title. Whatevs. At the end of the day it's a solid green tea cake all right, no red beans creamed between layers. Good.
I consumed about 20% of this cake I believe. Inappropriate and sinful, but worth my extra minutes on the treadmill. I have nothing better to do anyway. Except to finish that interesting book i'm reading right now - Hotel Babylon.
This is what it used to look like, beautiful, inviting, and green.
Pretty darn green. I love olive green. One of the walls in my room is purposefully painted olive green. It is a calming color. As you can probably tell the green tea white chocolate thins are very sweet. Some kind of citrusy jam (yuzu?) is dotted randomly over the thins. I quite liked the jam - a rather unexpected element. But quite Japanese too. The splotches of lightly whipped cream holding the chocolate in place is mildly sweet. The cake is made up of layers of green tea sponge cake and green tea mousse. The top of the cake has an intense green tea glaze which is the sweetest layer of all. All the other layers tasted more strongly of green tea - a hint of green tea bitterness yet still very pleasant because the whole thing is still predominantly, sweet. There is a layer of whipped cream in the very middle with macademia nuts(?) mixed into it, giving the cake a bit of nutty texture. Just a little bit. I can't decide whether I like getting a bit of every layer in each forkful or eating the layers separately.
I ended up gobbling up the bit of cake that was left. Oh, D does not like sweet food so I cleaned up her plate as well. How can anyone not like sweet food. D is clever for keeping this fat-inducing goodness at bay but is silly for missing out on one of the fine pleasures in life!
The delicate sweetness trickles into one's heart. The tongue is quick to forget but the heart endures. The sweetness is there to stay. :) Thanks, guys. Thanks, E. And C, who has a dragon boat race to cheer tomorrow morning, for staying till late.
