For those that grew up in the USA, when they hear Red Mango, they think frozen yogurt. Priding themselves in using all natural ingredients fortified by probiotics. In Hong Kong, they originally started as a frozen yogurt shop. But recently, they have changed direction and offer a vegetarian buffet.Yes, you heard right. Yes, you heard right. A vegetarian buffet.
There are two branches. One in Tsuen Wan and one in Kowloon City. As boyfriend is from the US, he was curious about this concept so we decided to go to the Kowloon City branch as it was nearer to where he lived.
The Kowloon City branch is located in the basement of Kowloon City Plaza. The only mall in the vicinity. The buffet is time limited for an hour and a half. As we were there on a weekday, it was $168. You pay when you enter and then you just grab a plate and go!
They had a salad bar with a variety of different salad dressings. I noted they had items like beets that was a bit different than most salad bars. The salad dressings were all cream based ones (or maybe yogurt based as it is Red Mango).
As the food was fairly good, I had a few items that I felt were worth a mention.
This is some sort of vegan seared tuna. Interesting and it had the same texture as tuna.
