今日同朋友去咗JW The lounge 食tea buffet,staff 好好人安排咗sofa 位俾我地,坐得好舒服食物方面,今次竟然有榴連pancake,要知道榴連陣味咁大,好小酒店會做,不過JW用咗保鮮紙包住個榴連肉,所以唔係好覺得陣味傳出黎,而呢個pancake勁好食,(最主要食榴連)我食咗差唔多四件,其實好想問可唔可以要榴連肉唔要pancake🤣🤣而個牛肉漢堡😋做得唔錯,似係用咗一些香茅令到漢堡味道提升,而個包都好好味,2樣配合先可以令到我俾4粒星🤩🤩另外燒牛肉😋都係不錯,外面唔鞋,入面嫩滑,我好小食酒店燒牛肉,因為通常都係鞋口同難食,但今次抵讚👍甜品有個日式水玄品幾得意😗😗,我覺得可以encore,其他甜品都係普通,無咩特別,因為我集中咗moven pick雪糕,真係唔多地方有,所以食咗4杯已經令到第2個胃都飽晒最後,因為11月做緊恒生優惠,好似8折,所以3**絕對超值

甜品有個日式水玄品幾得意😗😗,我覺得可以encore,其他甜品都係普通,無咩特別,因為我集中咗moven pick雪糕,真係唔多地方有,所以食咗4杯已經令到第2個胃都飽晒
最後,因為11月做緊恒生優惠,好似8折,所以3**絕對超值

It was my second time dining at The Lounge. The previous occasion was a dinner buffet, however, this time was a lunch buffet given the current dining restriction for the COVID pandemic. It was my second time dining at The Lounge. The previous occasion was a dinner buffet, however, this time was a lunch buffet given the current dining restriction for the COVID pandemic. This family buffet was in celebration of my birthday and Christmas so I was really looking forward to it. Although the variety of food was narrower, the quality was still kept up to my expectation - indeed top-notch. I believe JW Marriott is willing to splurge on high-end ingredients, sourcing them from around the world, especially the lobsters and crabs - meaty, juicy, and fresh. Such quality is probably difficult to come by particularly during this difficult time. Hats off to JW Marriott. 

Not only seafood, cooked food as well as desserts were made to a high standard. I want to especially praise the delicate cheesecake, apple crumble, and panda cotta they offered. As much as I love having desserts, I prefer those which are not too sweet and these desserts were made catering to my need. It would be hard-pressed to find any desserts out there which are produced to such high quality so I believe the chefs must have been trained for many years in the culinary field. What I also like about their portion is that they understand customers would like to try out as many food they offer as possible, so they give out only a petite size each time to reduce food waste. It was such a pity that I forgot to take pictures of the desserts as I was too thrilled to try them out. 

What’s better, The Lounge also offered me a small birthday cake with beautiful decorations on the side, I was ecstatic when the waiter lit the candle and slowly walked by my table. It was such an enjoyable experience to have spent with my family, the spacious and comfortable interior also significantly enhanced the overall experience. It was a very unforgettable dining experience.

環境很好,疫情期間四人一台非常乾淨,甜品種類有豆腐花,紅豆沙,各式各樣嘅蛋糕,Häagen-Dazs杯裝雪糕,更加有榴槤雪糕。魚生不是太多款式,但很新鮮,只是切魚生的職員比較馬虎,葉盤有乳鴿,豬手,中式老火湯,鮑魚片皮鴨等等,雖然冇牆腳蟹,但大多數嘅食物都很好味。值得會再來品嚐。

以上可以製造出數之不盡的配搭,拿個金屬碗取了自己喜歡的配料,便可給廚師幫你煮熟,之後再選湯底,有蕃茄湯、北京濃湯(是雞肉及豬骨湯)和喇沙湯等。

我第一碗有鮮蝦雲吞、冬瓜、白蘿蔔、菠菜配銀針粉和蕃茄湯。這鮮蝦雲吞大大件,是我遇過最好吃的因為內裡的蝦肉巨型,而且是新鮮蝦不是雪藏蝦,入口爽口彈牙和味道鮮甜,而雲吞皮薄而滑溜,整體質素極佳。蔬菜十分新鮮,其實我在湯麵吧選配菜時已可見它們色澤嫰綠,菜葉沒有半點變黃或枯。煮熟後的瓜菜亦甜美可口。另外我選了銀針粉,因為在香港很少地方可吃到,銀針粉帶點晶瑩,滑不溜口。

第二碗有牛肉、牛丸、魚蛋、魚片、金菇和烏冬配了北京濃湯。牛肉很大片,肉味濃。牛丸像乒乓球一樣大,肉質鬆化,肉汁濃郁。魚蛋、魚片亦爽滑有魚香。烏冬夠滑身,而北京濃湯鹹度適中。

接著到甜品了。碰巧我們座位身後便是甜品吧,中央放了一些花卉佈置,色彩柔和,顯得優雅。兩旁和牆身都放了色彩繽紛的甜品和水果,琳瑯滿目。

先從雪櫃拿了鮮果和蛋糕。水果甜美多汁,新鮮健康

最底層的蛋糕我試了中間的朱古力慕絲和杏子慕絲,因為我不喜歡吃芝士蛋糕的,所以沒有試。朱古力慕絲有濃濃的朱古力味,每一口慕絲都香滑。杏子慕絲酸甜的味道令人開胃醒神,刺激味蕾。

接著一口氣拿了5杯布丁/啫喱類甜品。前排左面是芒果布丁,有結實的口感,芒果味道清新但好像未能吃到芒果肉。前排右面的甜品表面是朱古力碎,底下是藍莓味奶凍。第二排左面的是wine jelly,表面是紅色,下面是透明,意態迷人,酒味不算太濃烈。第二排右面的是黑芝麻奶凍,有新意,而黑芝麻味很有清香。最後排的是tiramisu奶凍,口感夠香滑,甜度亦恰到好處。

然後吃一些熱的甜品,包括我喜愛的麵包布丁,暖笠笠又半融的麵包,加上其奶油味,味覺上的最佳享受。我亦吃了一件葡撻,酥皮鬆化香脆,蛋醬漿香滑甜美。

We were surprised that price was not expensive. No wonder it was so hard to book. We had been on their waitlist for weeks before our booking was confirmed one day before. Shortly after taking our orders, welcome tea was served to us. It smelt very nice of osmanthus and was just slightly sweet and super refreshing. Portion wise it was just like 2 sips with a giant ice cube.

There were 6 savouries. Each piece looked quite big in size. Their signature 鮑魚撻 and 虎蝦春卷配甜酸汁 already offered very great value for money and could really hardly be found elsewhere for afternoon tea sets.

It had a giant Tiger Prawn. As you could expect, the spring roll sheet was no longer fresh and crispy but the sweet and sour sauce was a great highlight to make the meaty prawn so appetising. I even finished the shell at the tail.

The abalone was not big but was pretty chewy and well seasoned. The tart base was quite crunchy. But the bad thing was that the combo of abalone and tart actually wasn't quite a match and it was just like using a mini tart base to hold the abalone.

The lobster pieces were very fresh and meaty and elastic to chew. The dressing was delicious and the sour mango cubes at the bottom were quite nice to balance the slightly sweet dressing. The caviar added preciousness to the dish.

The duck foie gras pate was very smooth and not too greasy. It went great with the thin and crispy brioche. Fig jam flavour seemed to have been masked. Unfortunately the melon ball was too hard and not juicy. I think this could taste pretty refreshing and not so greasy even without so many fruits.

The wheat baguette was very thin and crispy with some wheat to enhance texture. The brie cheese was quite thick. Together with the fresh figs, they helped to make the ham less dry. That said, I found it a bit too dry.

The macaroon was so big and very fresh and crispy with moist interior stuffed by green tea stuffings. Yuzu flavour was not so strong. There was a very pretty hazelnut pearl on top to add texture. It was not too sweet to us. Quite a high quality macaroon.

It looked so pretty with some white thin chocolate slice surrounding the outer surface in a nice round shape like a ruby stone. There was loads of vanilla mousse inside balanced by the sourness of the strawberry and blueberry filling. The blueberry on top did not taste very good as it had been cooked but was nicely decorated by some edible gold.

It was made in a nice dome shape surrounded by a white thin slice of chocolate. The green apple cream was quite refreshing although the flavours of pineapple and kale seemed to have been masked. The rice bubble base was still crunchy. There were 2 thin shreds of green apples placed on top.

The madeleine was made from dark chocolate so it was not sweet. But it was a bit too dry as the raspberry sauce inside could have been more.

There was one sweet which did not match the one specified on their menu. We asked the staff about it and even him could not tell us which it was about. Flavour-wise it seemed to be something made of sweet potato mousse and jelly, vanilla mousse and cream. It was quite nice. I particularly like the chocolate-made shell on top and the nice colourful decorative shreds on top.

We saw that they took out a lot of scones on a big tray and sorted them in the lounge before distributing the scones to us. If they could have done it indoors, it would have been better perception wise. That said, when the scones were served to us, the scones were still a little bit warm. The scones were sufficiently moist. I particularly liked how their crusts were slightly crunchy. The raisins scones were better because they smelt better. I usually liked Devonshire clotted cream more compared with jam but it was still cold and hard so it was not smooth at all. So I liked their blueberry jam more this time which was perfectly sweet with some real blueberries in it. Not the best scones we had ever had say at Four Seasons or Island ShangriLa but definitely not bad.

Iced Chocolate

There were two drinks included, either freshly brewed Graffeo Coffee or Tea WG selections. Tea only had a few choices including peppermint tea, earl grey, English breakfast tea without a list of tea menu to show you. We opted for two iced chocolates instead. They were just ok as they were not particularly smooth and we saw some chocolate sauce sunk to the bottom of our glasses after we had finished it.

In addition to the food, each of us got a small pack of branded skincare products to take away.

To conclude, the quality of the savouries was not like marvellous but they had quite a few signature items which were unique and reasonably good, making their savouries above average overall. Comparable with those at Island ShangriLa/Le Salon De The de Joel Robuchon. Their sweets were basically elaborately made with a lot of details and ingredients, making them good for photos and offering more complicated texture. That said, most of them seemed to be mousse, cream or ganache which made them quite similar in terms of texture.

Interior renovations were of the modern type with my favourite purple colour and metallic colours. Look at the light purple napkin in the picture. Ceilings were high. The seats could have been more comfortable with more cushions but they were spacious. Unlike Island ShangriLa, there was no live band.

Service was reasonable although there was no paper bag/envelopes to keep your used face masks. There was a 20% discount using HSB platinum credit card so that it was only $220 per head including service charge. Great value for money.

1. Steamed scallops with garlic 蒜蓉蒸帶子: these were so fresh and cooked just right! Love the garlic flavour 🧄 鮮甜多汁,又夠蒜香,一啲都唔韌👍🏻

2. Abalones蠔油鮑魚: these were so well seasoned and tender, decent size for a buffet too, ate so many that I lost count🤣入味又夠淋,大細適中,食左好多隻🤤

3. Char siu, Hainan chicken, roasted pigeon 叉燒、海南雞、燒乳鴿: the char siu was AMAZING, so juicy and tender! Can’t believe I ate so much char siu at a buffet! Hainan chicken and roasted pigeon were also super tender!叉燒好好食,冇諗過自助餐會食咁多叉燒😅另外海南雞同燒乳鴿都好夠淋,好驚喜😍

4. Peking duck wrap 北京填鴨 🦆: love the way they made the hoisin sauce! The duck skin had a bit of fat attached to it and was so flavourful! 海鮮醬調味調得好好,鴨皮夾著些許肥肉,好香口

5. Clams煮蜆: their clams are huge! Very creamy and sweet as well, worth trying! 煮蜆大大隻,好鮮甜!🤤

6. Fresh Shrimp Dumplings鮮蝦雲吞🥟: these are huge and so fresh, basically a huge shrimp wrapped in dumpling skin😂超大隻,基本上係用雲吞皮包住隻蝦,有點嚇到🤤

7. Seafood soup 海鮮湯🥘: you can ask for just soup with no rice, super fresh with a huge prawn and a piece of grouper too! 可以要求唔要飯,超鮮甜,仲有大蝦和一片龍躉魚肉😍

As a dessert fanatic, how I can not talk about their dessert! There was a good number of options, in particular, I love that they have whole cakes and pies. A funny thing I noticed though was that a number of their cakes are relatively sour, which I guess is a good thing when you are already stuffed from the savoury dishes🤣 作為甜品控當然要盡食甜品😍甜品選擇幾多,有唔少完個蛋糕和果撻。好幾款甜品都比較酸,有助消滯😅

Here are some of my favourites:
1. Durian tart榴槤撻 (pic 4): a must-have for all durian lovers, very intense durian flavour and couldn’t resist eating way more than one 榴槤控必食!超濃榴槤味,值得推介😋

2. Chocolate cake 朱古力蛋糕(pic 5): this was AMAZING! Made with layers of chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, walnuts and chocolate ganache, love the rich chocolate flavour and the way it just melts away in your mouth! 大力推介給所有朱古力控!蛋糕層加慕絲、果仁、朱古力醬,實在是完美組合🥰

Other items I tried included their tiramisu, which was mediocre as it was made of plain cream instead of the proper mascarpone cream. The apple yogurt cake in a funny green and red colour was also interesting with a touch of yuzu flavour. The berry tart was quite sour but I love a buttery tart base🙈提拉米蘇麻麻地,是用普通忌廉,不是義大利的瑪斯卡邦尼。又紅又綠嘅蘋果乳酪蛋糕幾有新意,仲有少少柚子味。另外雜莓撻比較酸,但係撻皮好香😍

$438~宵夜Buffet,竟然由 7:00p.m.已經開始,食到 10:00p.m.,平日晚上都有得食,唔使等週末,信用卡仲有八折,抵到爆。坐位空間寬敞,枱與枱之間分隔有段距離,服務員也不少,招呼週到,樓底高所以不嘈雜。食物種類多而且精緻 ; 乾芝士,沙律菜,海鮮冷盤,壽司/刺身,中/西湯,牛排/羊架/焗三文魚,即煮雲吞麵,生滾海鮮粥,乳鴿/叉燒/油雞,燒賣,蒸蟹,冬菇鮑魚,多款蛋糕甜品(有榴槤卷),水果,雪糕杯,軟雪糕(雲呢拿味/榴槤味),最後當然包一杯餐飲。估唔到全部都好食😋(水果除外)

,很不錯呢。雲尼拿士多啤梨慕絲蛋糕,酸酸甜甜。球狀的青蘋果忌廉蛋糕,青蘋果味突出。貝殼蛋糕,採用苦甜的黑朱古力製作,有滿滿的成熟風呀~

最後每人有兩件鬆餅,一件是原味,一件是提子口味。鬆餅新鮮焗起,服務員呈上時還冒着熱氣
,用心服務,令一眾愛吃下午茶愛打卡的女生也很滿意呢。

今日有人請食飯,雖然唔使自己俾錢,不過知道個餐要成四百幾蚊,就覺得性價比麻麻哋。😅😅其實都係buffet style,有沙律,少量嘅壽司魚生,有牛扒羊架,有海南雞、叉燒、乳鴿,有凍食海鮮,有片皮鴨,中式海鮮,雲吞麵檔及甜品corner。唔係話佢哋啲嘢食唔好食,不過味道就冇乜驚喜,同埋款式唔算太多。😏😏真心講一講,有個可以快速改進嘅地方。雖然而家係疫情,需要注重衛生,所以全部食物都有用蓋嵌着,其實係好事嚟嘅,不過客人一隻手揸住隻碟,令一隻手揸住個夾,其實個蓋真係唔知放邊度🤪🤪

呢度既Tea Set 有兩個選擇, 一款就係正常款, 另一個俾貴少少既就可以加一杯champagne, 但係食既野係一樣🥂 星期一至五同星期六日黎既價錢會有少少分別🤏🏾 成個Set 總共有7款鹹食6款甜食再加四個Scones🍮 我個人覺得佢既鹹食比甜食較為優勝, 鹹食當中以整得超入味既鮑魚撻同埋香脆虎蝦春卷配甜椒汁最為令我印象深刻🤤 甜食方面就比較普通, 好多款都有甜脆皮包住, 做到外脆內軟既效果, 不過我怕太甜所以淨係食左個心😂 呢度既Scones 除左鬆之外仲幾軟下, 個外皮可以硬少少會好啲🧐 啲Clotted cream 唔夠軟身所以好難spread 開係Scones 度 飲品方面跟set 會有杯桂花香芬冰茶做welcome tea, 飲落冰冰涼涼有淡淡既桂花香🌼 另外仲有好多唔同既茶飲, 我地揀左熱檸蜜🍋 黎既時候係熱檸水配樽仔蜜糖俾你自己落🍯 感覺好似叫返Earl Grey 果啲會更好😂 呢個價錢食到呢個質素同環境我覺得幾抵👍🏽

飲品方面跟set 會有杯桂花香芬冰茶做welcome tea, 飲落冰冰涼涼有淡淡既桂花香🌼 另外仲有好多唔同既茶飲, 我地揀左熱檸蜜🍋 黎既時候係熱檸水配樽仔蜜糖俾你自己落🍯 感覺好似叫返Earl Grey 果啲會更好😂 呢個價錢食到呢個質素同環境我覺得幾抵👍🏽

Absolutely loved the afternoon tea set at The Lounge. You start off with a refreshing cup of chilled osmanthus oolong bliss welcome tea to work up an appetite. Then, in an automatic motion, you'd go straight for the abalone tart because it's so meaty and succulent looking 😍. The tiger prawn spring roll was another fav of mine. The tiger prawn spring roll was another fav of mine. It's got the perfect balance of crunchiness and bounciness. The prawn was very large and the crispy skin was thin and light. The sweet & sour sauce gave the spring roll a nice burst of flavors. As you move down the set, you will find 4 more "savory" bites, well more like sweet and savory because they're complemented with seasonal fruits. Usually it feels weird to taste fruit in a savory dish, like peach on pizza...wth? But these items just worked for me. Mango with lobster salad and caviar, duck foie gras pâté with melon & grape brioche with fig jam, and cured Japanese momotaro tomato with preserved plum sauce, the fruitiness either accentuates the sweetness in the savory ingredients or balances the richness of them, just amazing!

There are 6 more sweet items at the bottom and each of them come in different exquisite shapes and flavors. If you're a fan of mousses, you'd be in heaven because almost all of them were mousse based. I loved the wild strawberry mousse the most. Would you look at that cute realistic design 🍓?

The scones here are also amazing, one of the best I've had in town. They're soo light and fluffy with a mild buttery aroma. You'll find yourself munching on one after another with clotted cream and jam!
