As I remembered Lemon Tea’s recommendation on 小巨蛋, I forced my friends to try out 3 drinks with me when we walked past this store the other day. 招牌黑糖奶茶 ($12) – The best of the 3 that we tried. The tea flavor wasn’t as strong as I would have liked (or expected), but the black sugar (黑糖) added a noticeable burnt caramelized sweetness to the drink. As I remembered Lemon Tea’s recommendation on 小巨蛋, I forced my friends to try out 3 drinks with me when we walked past this store the other day.
招牌黑糖奶茶 ($12) – The best of the 3 that we tried. The tea flavor wasn’t as strong as I would have liked (or expected), but the black sugar (黑糖) added a noticeable burnt caramelized sweetness to the drink. I consider this a nice variation to help differentiating this tea from the massive Taiwanese milk tea products out there. The tapioca balls were chewy but hard to say they were better than others. A slush version (巨冰/沙冰) should be more quenching.
优多冰沙 ($15) – The Yakult slushie was very cold and the texture was quite smooth. Unfortunately the Yakult flavor was too weak and all I could taste was a monotonous sweetness rather than the lactic sourness of Yakult. That said, this was still better than the Yakult drinks at Happy Lemon.
榴莲飘香 ($15)– This was seriously a failed product. It didn’t taste like durian, and there were some wafer crumbles in the drink (done on purpose, I think). Then we figured out that they must have used durian flavored wafers to mix into the drink! The flavor was super-artificial and didn’t remotely resemble durian. AVOID!
Service was extremely friendly and they even let me take pictures inside the tiny store.
Smiley face for 招牌黑糖奶茶, OK face to 优多冰沙, and Crying face to 榴莲飘香 averaged out to an OK face.
