Another openrice gathering, at first there were 42 people in the list plus 17 people in the waiting list, but finally we were facing big problems of 甩底. Hope that each 食友could control the no-show issue.1.凉伴凤爪: 6 分, 味道淡, but still a good start for the night.2.越式拼盆:7分, I tried a few things, 春卷was a little bit over-fried, but tasty, taste of 扎肉likes 鱼饼, OK! 蔗虾, 唔错!3.海龙皇汤:6分, a very big bowl of 海龙皇汤, not really spicy, but the taste was exactly the same as 罗宋汤. 2.越式拼盆:7分, I tried a few things, 春卷was a little bit over-fried, but tasty, taste of 扎肉likes 鱼饼, OK! 蔗虾, 唔错!
3.海龙皇汤:6分, a very big bowl of 海龙皇汤, not really spicy, but the taste was exactly the same as 罗宋汤. Though it was called 海龙皇, almost all the families of seafood were squeezed into tiny pieces.
4.椰青蟹:9分, 椰青鲜甜, 蟹味道OK. A very nice combination of 椰青and 蟹. This would be my highly recommended dish!
5.笋谷:7分, among the deep-fried and spicy dishes, this would be a good cushion for my stomach. There was a small portion of sweet taste.
6.咖喱牛腩煲:9分, I was never a spicy person, but I pretty loved curry food. This 咖喱牛腩煲had similar standard as 亚龙咖喱, 几辣, using 咖喱汁配法包and 蒜蓉包were very good choices. Of course my favorite 咖喱would still be the 绿咖喱in South Pasadena and 日本咖喱in J-town.
7.咖喱鸡煲:7分, 鸡肉was not very good, 骨多过肉, but only 咖喱汁could serve the key factor to save this dish.
8.洋葱虾:8分, 洋葱味道几好, 虾OK, a nice dish.
9.炸软壳蟹:7分, 软壳蟹was over-fried. Not the best that we had tried, but still good to combine with 39 and 越南香槟.
10.香茅烧鸡:8分, there were still many leftovers for this dish, but as a chicken-lover, I still loved this dish. One of the better 烧鸡in Hong Kong restaurants. The downside was too oily.
11.炒菜:6分, normal standard 炒菜, of course what we could expect for this dish.
12.越式炒饭:4分, taste was no good, 炒得唔好.
13.越式炒粉:5分, better than 炒饭, but still not a recommended dish.
14.椰汁拉椰糕:6分, 热食, not bad, but not my cup of tea.
It was still a funny night in this gathering. With the addition of 39 and 越南香槟, we were already were full enough. Among the 3 tables, we should be the one that finished the most food, but we were still far behind from finished everything. I even did not have room for the dessert trip afterwards.
I regret that we could not try 鸡饭, but some of the dishes were still in high standard.
