不过穿乡郊衣服是不可，只因香岛厅的服装要求甚严紧。内里环境不俗，雅致但不摩登，侍应安排至窗旁的大圆桌，食客纷至，午餐时分以太太、女士、网球教练居多，食客进食时仍能保持宁静。
由于主人家早已预约并预留菜肴，齐人后便酌量多添便成。点心是以每人一蒸笼上桌，内有虾饺、烧卖、牛肉烧卖、豆苗饺、小笼包各一，每款是精致美味，还有各式肠粉、中式包点，点心类绝对媲美甚至超越城中某些星级食肆，难怪会方极力推荐；餐前小吃如炸春卷、炸蟹球、卤水食品同样出色；烧味拼盘，叉烧、油鸡、烧鹅、熏蹄、海蜇等等，叉烧犹甚，烧得香嫩软身，上的酱汁刚好，难怪最快吃尽；烧鹅、油鸡同样出色，每款也是刚熟，肉身嫩滑。
据闻他们的招牌鸡是值得一试，惟是次未能提供，便吃了片皮鸭。鸭肉是鲜嫩热辣，京葱、酱料、薄包齐全，美味可口；上桌的鲜菜分别是清炒菜心、姜汁炒芥兰，芥兰渗有轻轻的姜味；XO酱明虾球，虽然是香辣美浓，但我不太喜欢XO酱会掩盖虾肉的鲜，还好肉身鲜嫩；洋人大多喜欢咕噜肉，鲜艳颜色增进食欲，酸甜汁紧紧包围外层，肉质嫩滑，不俗。还有其后的几款小菜，同样美味。
荷叶饭、扬州炒饭、干烧伊面看似平平无奇。荷叶饭是出色，荷香渗透饭粒，配料、饭粒、调味互相配合得宜；炒饭与配料的比例均匀，饭粒完整，味道适中，看似平凡，但细嚼后更见美味，当然伊面也不例外。
最后的甜品如鲜磨杏仁露、杨枝甘露，外表吸引，热杏仁露质感不厚亦不稀薄，清香的杏仁鲜味渗至喉咙，出色；杨枝甘露没有尝过，据说也不错。最后送上鲜果特大拼盘，西瓜、蜜瓜、哈蜜瓜同样清理舌头，为整顿饭画上句号。由于付款只有记账，费用不详。
离去后有种郁闷，原来是想起另一段歌词，现实中带点讽刺，与开首那民歌成对比－
