We were walking around the shopping mall & started feeling hungry, so we decided to try out this Thai restaurant for afternoon tea. Since it was our first time trying out this restaurant, we thought we’d spend a few minutes looking at the menu. Since it was our first time trying out this restaurant, we thought we’d spend a few minutes looking at the menu. However, about a minute or two after we sat down, a waitress walked up to us and asked “why haven’t you placed your order yet? It’s last order now!” in a rude manner.
The waitress’s manner provoked us, leading us to state that “no one told us there was a last order time.” Yet the waitress did not explain anything to us, and only looked fed-up and made us order immediately, because it was time for them to do the accounts. This also meant that we were made to pay immediately after ordering... quite a rare sight in a restaurant.
Between the time in which we placed our order and when the food came, other customers had tried to come in for some afternoon tea. Yet, waitresses greeted those customers with a harsh attitude, telling them to go away as it was break time for the staff before the dinner session. The customer service definitely needs some work...
Fine, we thought the food might do this restaurant justice, but disappointingly, it didn’t.
We ordered three dishes: Hainanese Chicken Rice, Yellow Curry with Roti and Green Curry with Garlic Bread.
The Hainanese Chicken Rice was appalling. The rice itself was a mixture of undercooked rice and porridge-like rice; absolutely shocking. The chicken itself was mediocre.
The Yellow Curry with Roti was pretty good, the curry tasted quite nice, but only one piece of chicken was in the curry.
The Green Curry with Garlic Bread was sub-par. The garlic bread itself was crisp, yet the chicken in the curry tasted bland and rough.
Overall, we came in with expectations of some quality Thai food, but left disappointed at the food and the service.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
