Went there tonight to celebrate friend's birthday, where he recommend 'coz this restaurant was very good...5 years ago.When I checked openrice's comment, I found they server very cheap lunch (around $40-$50) but dinner cost about $400 each...and the comment was on so-so...then I have doubt that why not go to Bonheur in Sheung Wan? That would about the same cost but all of us would be very full with extremely good food....but anyway we'll try since the BD boy want to go...We arrived the restaura

We arrived the restaurant at 7...a bit dress up...but found it's like a local "cha chan tan"....and I was like "shxx"...this is french restaurant?!!?
Anyway we had ordered caesar salad with parma ham ($108), 鹅肝x 2 ($148 each), main course are Angus beef rib ($198), grill game hen ($368) and 黑毛猪架($368)
The three main course came with soup, we asked what was the soup, the waitress said "cream soup"......when arrived....my comment is it's the same "cream soup" I get from $28 set lunch elsewhere....so white that I'm sure there is no real cream...it just made from butter and flour, I was like...."oh my god I can imagine how good the food can be..."
Salad came next, taste is a bit strange, as it get no caesar dressing, it taste just salty salty and without the most important thing in caesar salad - "银鱼"...sigh...the parma ham is ok but that little vegi cost $108....鹅肝came...two small pieces, over done, the middle all dry up and taste like 猪肝........
Angus beef rib came, IT'S NOT RIB!!! It's actually 牛仔骨, 6 pieces size about $5 coin, cost $198 ....man that's just red wine sauce, so easy to make and it cost $198 are you kidding me?!?!
The game hen came, no expectation and it stuff with mushroom rice, it's taste was the best so far and the portion is more reasonable, but again it lack the complicity of traditional French food, so easy to cook with anyone...
The 黑毛猪架 came last ------ what the hack that's only one piece of bone you called it "架", do you on earth know what "架" means??? Only one piece and the amount is so little, taste was good but definitely not worth $368, no way man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At the end with the amount of food of course we can order dessert, apple tart, this is the best of the night and again they also cost $60 each, man this is 4 star hotel's price tag and I'm seating in a char chan tang setting, again no way man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bill came and this food cost me $1,600, crazy I'm not even half full and left with my hungry stomach home......
p.s. we're not allow to take ANY picture of the food, come on what's the big deal, anyone can cook this kind of "french" food with 1/5 of the cost!!!
