Was here one early morning. Sai wan was still busy with parents sending their children from one spot to another to school. Constantly people come in at Chek Kee for a steaming hot but chilling relief from the stresses in their lives. The reason why I was there was mainly the Ja Leung, a simple dish that im always after in Hong Kong since many do not use fresh and crispy ja leungs when they wrap it with cheung fun. So to make sure i got what i want i asked if the ja leung would be crunchy or not.H

Honest he was as he instantly smiled (wickedly) and said 'well, they wont be very crispy...if you want something crispy you can order this one(pointing to the made-to-order ja leung that costs $14). okay. fine. the $14 one then.
Dont come on a hot days as theres virtually no air-con here and you will sweat till death if you order hot congees to drink. and if you are interested in trying the make-to-order ja leungs, make sure you get a bigger crowd unless you feel super-hungry and have the stomach of a cow's size!
