Having dinner on my own on Saturday night, there was a long queue and I finally got in after a half an hour wait. The restaurant looks neat and clean. I ordered one bowl of 麻辣半筋半肉面, one cup of iced green tea and one portion of 盐酥鸡 through QR code. The 盐酥鸡 was good as it’s hot and crunchy. They sprinkled a bit of minced garlic on top which enhances the flavour. However, I am not really impressed by the 麻辣半筋半肉面. The 盐酥鸡 was good as it’s hot and crunchy. They sprinkled a bit of minced garlic on top which enhances the flavour. However, I am not really impressed by the 麻辣半筋半肉面. Its broth was a bit sweet, and the spicy and tingling flavour did not stand out. They used rib fingers instead of beef shanks like some other famous Taiwanese beef restaurants. I personally prefer shank before of its texture. The rib fingers weren’t soft enough so it’s over chewy. The beef tenders were soft though and it absorbed all the flavour from the broth. Portion wise it’s not generous to be honest.
Staff were ok, they were not doing anything wrong and it’s just a causal restaurant. Price is a bit expensive with 10% service charge and they only accept cash.
