Finally its the Charity Cone Day! You could get a free scope by donating $10 or more at ben n jerry's, with no extra terms or conditions attached. What a bargain - and since i could not have lunch, i decided to have this super-yummy ice cream as my late lunch-cum-dinner.There was a short queue when i arrived at the Soho branch at three thirty. There was a short queue when i arrived at the Soho branch at three thirty. It moved fast however and within 5 minutes i could get in front of the ice cream counter to make the payment and choose the flavour. The choice was not as extensive as the bigger branches and i was kinda heart-broken to see that my favourite NY Fudge was not available - and thus, having some difficulties in making a choice between the cookie dough, chocolate therapy and chunchy mokney, i picked the wholesomely chocolatious therapy which kinda resembled wet mud with its dark brown colour. I had it in a cone - something i had not had for years.
The scope was quite large and i was happy to see that the serving had not been reduced while BnJ was doing charity work! I believed i had made the right choice as the thing was healing and comforting by itself - it was sweet, but not oversweetened but contained the organic sweetness of the cocoa; the texture was rich with the creamy and smooth ice cream, kinda rough-on-the-tongue chocolate mud cake/fudge and the darker and sweeter chocolate pudding. Too bad that NY Chunk was not available as i would have preferred something with nuts and almonds in, but what i ordered was good enough. The wafer cone was also delicious as it was fresh and crunchy with a buttery flavour - yummy. I finished the whole thing within 5 minutes before i arrived at home!Technically i had paid nothing for the ice cream which came also with a key-chain and a discount coupon for future use - this is truly a cone for a charitable cause which you had no excuse not to treat yourself to!
