We decided to try this beautiful Japanese place at HKU. We loved their decorations.The place itself had a minimalistic feel and was very clean. Their staff were friendly too. We tried their: 1. 花锦鱼生丼 I can’t begin to describe how beautiful the presentation of this donburi was and the chef’s attention to detail. I can’t begin to describe how beautiful the presentation of this donburi was and the chef’s attention to detail. Not only was it beautifully presented, the dish itself tasted really good. The sashimi slices were fresh and not overly ‘fishy’. The Japanese rice was perfectly cooked and was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of tanginess. We loved their addition of the fish roe which gave it a mix of texture to this dish.
2. 炎之丼
This was by-far one of the best donburi we had. It had a very unique smoky flavour to it due to charring of the fish slices. They were generous with the scallop serving, it was big, juicy and fresh. With every mouthful we had, it just tasted better and better. I loved their combination of the minced shrimp, scallop and charred salmon- it was like heaven with every bite!
3. 火炙右口鱼边寿司 (Seared Flounder Nigiri)
This was also another favorite of ours! It’s a must try! As soon as it touches our mouth, it just melts in the mouth. They had the right proportion of sliced sashimi and sushi rice. I would really recommend this dish!
4. 蟹皇酱烧蟹膏豆腐 (Grilled Crab Butter with Crab Miso)
This was our first time trying this dish. It had a texture of a soft tofu but had a super rich crab meat flavour. It was very unique and one of their recommended dish! Do try this dish, if you are a crab lover!

Both the sashimi were super fresh. They both had a very unique taste to it and was best eaten alone! If you’re looking for fresh sashimi, this is the place to go.
7. 蒜片一口牛 (Beed Diced)
We also loved their diced beef which was cooked with fried garlic pieces that gave it an added boost of flavour. The beef was very tender and was perfectly seasoned. Overall, we loved this dish!
