I am a resident of Wan Chai and I am delighted to see Swatow Street (it's only 2 streets away east of Ship Street) is turning into a coffee culture hub AND a food paradise. There are 4 coffee shop on this street now. I've tried all of them and attempted to give my 2 cents here Starting with Veygo, for the obvious reason - it is my favorite!Coffee: my recommendation is Piccolo and Double Ristretto Flat White - i think it's a combination of choice of coffee beans and the skills of barrista. Starting with Veygo, for the obvious reason - it is my favorite!
Coffee: my recommendation is Piccolo and Double Ristretto Flat White - i think it's a combination of choice of coffee beans and the skills of barrista. Their espresso drinks are served slightly on the hot side, the milk / foam was always smooth and fine. In my opinion, their piccolo tops the chart in HK
***note: their beans are slightly on the sour side... very very slight hint, but the sourness is more obvious in cold drinks***
Food: Reasonably priced. Spinach and Mushroom Benedict is my favorite. I also like their bagel sandwiches. In their ham bagel, they serve thick cut ham, with tomato, some fresh greens and cream cheese. It leaves you not overwhelmed but quite satisfying.
Service: Good service, the 2 male barristas are very friendly and professional.
This place has become my base when I feel like a really good coffee.
