had just met up with girlfriends for lunch. thought i'd pop into one of my listed cafés and just chill for the remaining afternoon and picked this - turns out to be a great choice! * * * * * * the place is a little hard to find, considering it is on this small street next to the L place. the place is a little hard to find, considering it is on this small street next to the L place. (i went past it on queen's road then turned back.) but it is also one reason why i liked it - the fact that it is on a small street makes it a hidden treasure (which i found! ).
anyways. so i walked down the street. and when i looked at the café from a bit of distance, honestly, the facade of the place didn't look good, cos of its red lighting. but then i walked up and saw this:
just like most cafés in central, it is small (thus cozy). think there were around 20 seats? there was a table with 4 stools outside the glass door of the place which i quite liked (and would have taken if it weren't raining).
seated myself next to a socket (brought my phone charger this time - yay!) and got up to order at the cashier.
ordered a small cappuccino, which turned out to be pretty big.
and there was quite a lot of nice smooth foam (which i think makes a cappuccino a cappuccino)! would be better if it were denser.
the liquid beneath was slightly too milky, thus not very strong. but it still made an above average cup of coffee.
the 3G on my phone didn't work very well there. recalling from past reviews that the place had wifi, i asked the barista for a password, who then pointed towards a picture behind me on the wall and said - 'godfather'.
apparently, this place is godfather-themed and serves 'coffee for men (and ladies) of honour' (from its card). and when i checked for wireless networks there was one named 'Corleone' - prolly used by the owner of this café who lived upstairs? lol

i find this place very welcoming (despite the red light). and considering altogether the taste, size and price of the cappuccino, think i've found myself my daily source of caffeine once i start working!
