Utilized the long space to fullest potential, complete with alfresco area; in terms of decor, better than Predecessors Trattoria Kagawa and Gunpowder.
Here’s what we had.
Japanese Oyster with plump texture.
Saba Sashimi, assured by enthusiastic female server that it was the freshest.
Scallop Tempura and Clam Tempura.
Grilled Stingray Fin- tough and rubbery texture.
By then, our tiny table was already overcrowding with dishes, despite server’s earlier assurances that timing-wise, there would be adequate gaps between dishes as opposed to everything being served lumped together. (Resulting in a teeny tiny explosion from PickyEater.)
Awaodori Chicken Wing- supposedly a highlight, but the seasoning and cooking were not quite on point. Could have been crispier, and the flavors were not as bold and vibrant as they could have been.
Local Chicken Wing- crispier and more enjoyable than the former.
Chicken Crest
Wanted to order 提灯, which was no available.
Ox Tongue
Grilled Rice Ball- rice had crispy exterior but tasted disappointingly bland. Seaweed had gone soft.
Dessert: warabimochi trio that took longer than the rest of the meal put together. Manager explained it was made on demand, but a little warning upon ordering would be nice. Too runny for my liking.
In summary: a letdown although there were a few dishes that showed potential (eg ox tongue). Friendly service.
