My first impressions were very positive. This newly opened restaurant has a lovely Turkish themed decor and the service from all the waitresses was excellent from start to finish. You are given a QR code so you can order using your mobile phone, but I noticed that some customers ordered directly with the staff, who seemed happy to oblige. I ordered the chicken kebab with rice. The chicken looked good and I liked the side of greens that came with it. However, to my disappointment, the everything in the dish was completely cold - it wasn't even barely warm! I felt like I was eating something that had been cooked several hours ago.
Also, when my dish came, I couldn't help but notice the huge amount of rice. I'm inclined to think they ignored or didn't see my special instructions, but then again, I didn't follow up with the staff about this since I didn't want to cause a scene and it really wasn't that big of a deal. Perhaps this was indeed less rice; maybe the portion is normally even bigger, who knows!
I wonder if I was just unlucky, or if the other dishes are better. I arrived just before 6pm on a weekday, but not long after the restaurant was 3/4 full and it wasn't even 7pm. Quite impressive for a new restaurant serving non-Chinese cuisine in a very local Chinese neighbourhood! I might come back and give them one more chance to see if the food will be better next time.
