Reason for visiting:My friend G told me she had a nice lunch here with her colleagues so I decided to check it out with homie B! Decor:
Brittany is along the shore in France, and the decor really did reflect this fact, as there were sailing decors all over. Brittany is also known for its cider, which also explains the bottles you see in the picture. Oh, and they had wooden tables, have I ever mentioned that I love wooden things? Ha.
Taste & Value:For lunch, there were 3 different sets, with over 12 galettes/crepes for you to choose from! You got to choose one sweet and one savory + coffee/tea or add$20 for a cup of cider instead.
What I ordered ($138):Savaory: Smoked Salmon- I almost orderd the Ham, Cheese and Egg since I thought it'd be like a Croque Madame, but my friend convinced me to have this instead. The galette is made with buckwheat flour, which is awesome because buckwheat is known as one of the healthiest foods on earth. The warm galette was light and soft, so along with the filling inside, every bite was a delightful soft touch on the tongue. The filling included smoked salmon, a creamy dill sauce, cheese and an egg. Although I found it a bit salty,it was very tasty.
Sweet: Vanilla Ice cream with Chocolate Sauce- This too was a tasty one. The ice cream was good, and the chocolate sauce was not those cheap artificial tasting ones. It seemed to me it was real chocolate melted. I wish I had my hot coffee to drink with this sweet crepe, but my coffee was served to me before any of the food came so by the time I was eating this, I only had a few cold sips left.
What Homie B ordered ($108): Homie B was smart and tried their cider. I should have too, I honestly don't know why I didn't. B was asked if she wanted a dry or sweet cider. The only difference was that dry was not as sweet and had a more alcohol taste to it. B, who loves alcoholic beverages of course chose the dry cider. She said it was good and sweet enough.
Savory: Pancetta, Cheese and Egg- B let me try hers and I loved it. I'm afraid of pancetta because of how fatty it is and the porky taste it has sometimes. However, this pancetta with the emmental cheese were a match in heaven. My bite was very cheesy and rich. I liked it more than the salmon one I had.
Sweet: Stewed Apple with Caramel Sauce- B liked this a lot, and I didn't mind it as well. We ate this with some of the ice cream from mine and it was lovely. The acidity from the apples + the sweetness of the caramel sauce + the creamy texture of the ice cream + the crepe base that held it all together made it wonderful.
Service & Hygiene:Every aspect of the restaurant seemed very tidy and clean. The staff were very friendly and joyful. We were greeted with a smile and left with a thank you from the staff, which made the whole experience even better and more personal.
Final Verdict:
I'm glad I went at lunch time because I got to try 2 full sized savory and sweet crepes. I know I will eventually be back and when I am, I'm gonna have to try their cider!
