The Kwun Tong area has a lot of hidden restaurants located inside their many factory buildings. How to find these places are usually word of mouth or flyers you see pasted on the wall or distributed to you as you walk down the street. 90s Lazy was one such place that caught my eye from a poster I saw on the wall. It seemed familiar until I realized this was the upstairs cafe that was located in Mong Kok that I had a keen interest but later it closed. But apparently, it didn't close and had reloc
The restaurant was spacious and simple. It wasn't too busy as there was only one other table of diners. Good enough for us as we wanted some wher e quiet to rest our feet.
Menu is in English and Chinese. There is a minimum $100 per person charge. We had arrived as dinner started, thus they had a dinner set available which included a set drink with 50% discount for other drinks. They also offered a la carte for those that weren't interested in the dinner set. The food was typical cafe fair: pastas, salads, all day breakfasts.
I had the Passionfruit Smoothie ($23 after the 50% discount for ordering the dinner set). This was really quite good. The right amount of sweetness. A crisp taste of passionfruit. And the ice was well blended so I didn't get big chunks.
Boyfriend had the Strawberry Milkshake ($55). Smooth and thick with a light taste of strawberry. A generous taste of milk.
I had the dinner set and chose a Linguine with Mentaiko and Crab ($138). It was fantastic. Very creamy and buttery with that nice strong taste of mentaiko for that hit of umami. There was lots of crab meat found throughout. It was topped with shredded nori and flying fish roe for that popping sensation.
Boyfriend had the Cheeseburger ($98). It came with fries and a side of salad. The bun was a soft brioche that was lightly buttered and toasted. The patty was a decent medium rare and quite juicy. The cheese needed a bit more time to melt but it was fine. The fries were fluffy and crisp with a touch of seasoning. The salad was also dressed properly and the greens were fresh.
For an additional $25, we could order the daily dessert. So we had one of each.
The Tiramisu was delicious. Moist and so full of chocolatey coffee taste. The cream was so luxurious.
Cheesecake was the other daily dessert. It was super creamy and rich. They drizzled some chocolate sauce to make it look nice.
A nice relaxing place to dine. Quite and not noisy which is a plus. Food tasted delicious. Glad I found this place out of the blue.
