It was time for lunch, and we were so ready to go to Sergio. We walked there eagerly, our stomachs growling, only to find out... it's closed down!!!
We then decided to walk towards the Tin Hau direction and go restaurnt hunting.
We walked, and passed by quite a few restaurants that my picky bestfriend wouldn't settle for. So we walked. And walked. And walked... It's almost 2pm. We're starving. It's 33 degrees celsius and the midday sun was shining. Finally my other friend and I protested. We stopped in front of Ziti's and declared that we're just gonna try this restaurant. We sat down at a table and honestly, I was a bit worried, since there were only a few customers in there. At this point I didn't expect my food to be delicious; I just prayed that it wouldn't be too terrible.
There was a set lunch menu but we didn't order from it (it's good value though).
Angel Hair Tuna Puttanesca $68
I had this. This wasn't the most delicious angel hair I've had in my life, but this was good for the price. Seriously.
The portion was quite big. Pasta was al dente. It's not too oily/ salty/ bland. And unlike like some pasta I'd had in other restaurants that had way more pasta than toppings, there's tuna and olives and tomato sauce in every single bite. What more can you ask for for $68?
Spaghetti Pesto $55
This was a bit oily but it's acceptable (since pesto sauce IS made of olive oil). Spaghetti is al dente. There were ingredients (like mushroom) that weren't supposed to be there (not listed on the menu) and ingredients that were supposed to be there (like sun dried tomato) were missing. But it's okay. Taste is what matters, right?
Downside: There's like no a/c. The waitress said they turned the air conditioning to 16 degrees and it felt like its 28. They need new air conditioners dude.
Oh and they don't charge you service charge, since there's basically no service anyway.
