I've been going to Spring Deer since I was a kid and have been back for many many times since. We booked a table on a Saturday evening 3 weeks before. It was crowded and nosiy as usual. A very tasty dinner but can hardly hear each other's voice. It was all close firends at a table of 12. Basically, we enjoyed sumptous food without much conversation. My favourite was its signature dish: Shi Yu (John Dory), served on an iron grill, with tasty black vinegar. Scale was crispy. Despite all the small
My favourite was its signature dish: Shi Yu (John Dory), served on an iron grill, with tasty black vinegar. Scale was crispy. Despite all the small bones, we finished it all!!! Other good dishes were peking duck, chicken and shark's fin soup. Dumpings were good. Overall, it's quite an authenic Shangtung/ Northern Chinese meal, not with a very sophisticated presentatio, nor a good environment, but food was GOOD!!
