It’s almost the time when the heat shows no mercy in the city, and there’s nothing better to pump up your appetite than having fresh Japanese cuisine. If you are looking for a taste of delicate freshness, Sakura Japanese Cuisine is definitely the right place.
We ordered a nine-course dinner set, which begins with asparagus salad with sesame dressing. Crunchy and slightly tart, it pampers your palate for the proteins that follow.
The proteins include fish, shellfish and foie gras. The fish were served as sashimi, which you could almost taste the ocean, and also deep fried and tossed on a herbal cream sauce.
As for the shellfish and foie gras, they were prepared in teppanyaki style. The flavors were elevated by the sharpness of the sea salt, and the juices just couldn’t stop drizzling. I would call the foie gras the highlight of the teppanyaki, as it literally melted in my mouth without taking even a single bite.
Before the dessert, we had meso soup with stock prepared from lobster, and garlic fried rice. The flavor of the soup is mild, so that the umami was almost singled out. The fried rice was prepared also in tappanyaki style, and the flavors of the previous dishes are well incorporated.
The dinner ends with caramel toast and raindrop cake. The caramel sticks well on the toast, giving it a nice crunch upon cooling. The raindrop cake tastes as good as it looks, which the subtle aroma of dark sugar syrup brings the finale to the dinner.
Even though the restaurant is slightly pricey, it is well-justified by the quality of the food. If you want to give yourself a little indulgence, Sakura Japanese Cuisine should be on the top of your list!
